We are hiring a Part Time Oral Historian!
Are you ready to dive into the vibrant history of miners and their families' journey to unionize in the early 20th century? As an Oral Historian with us, you'll have the chance to collect and preserve ten oral histories for our groundbreaking Mingo County Black History Project. You'll work closely with our dedicated team to identify interviewees, conduct engaging interviews, digitize artifacts and photos, and enrich our museum's archives with these invaluable stories.

A cover letter outlining why you're interested in the position and how your skills and experiences make you a great fit.
Your updated resume.
A writing sample that demonstrates your ability to develop program-related materials or showcases your writing and critical thinking skills (no more than three pages).
Although we welcome applications from any interested, qualified applicants, an early-career student, scholar, or educator with ties to central Appalachia generally, and Mingo County in particular, is preferred.
